MEDITATION

The goal of meditation isn’t to control your thoughts; it is to stop letting them control you.

My approach

If I were to say it in one sentence I would say that I teach meditation for the real world.
With that I do not mean that I do not acknowledge the path of self-awakening that comes with meditation, but more so that my approach of teaching this incredible practice is very much anchored in the realities of the world you and I live in.

I believe meditation is the greatest tool to get to know yourself better, to engage with your own feelings & perceptions, to support you when dealing with stress or fatigue, to bring a pause to your life & so much more.

The techniques & tools that I share are approachable, simple (although not necessarily easy) & adapted to my students’ specific needs or areas of focus. I would not necessarily teach the same thing to someone dealing with heavy stress or someone looking to gain focus & creativity. Just like there are many ways to practice yoga on a mat, there are different ways to meditate.

What I am passionate about though is to bring meditation to as many people as possible.
I strongly believe that this one tool can make a huge difference not only in your own personal life, but also in the ones of the people around you, at home, in your team, with your classmates, with strangers…

That being said, I actually never try to convince someone about the benefits of meditation & you won’t hear me talk about why you ‘should’ do it.

My approach is: try it for yourself, with honest curiosity – and see what happens. That’s it.
I know meditation can be intimidating at first – I’ve been there – but I promise you anyone can do it.
And who knows, it might even change your life in small big ways…

Possible benefits of meditation

  • Do I really need to write this list?! You’ve probably heard this hundreds of times!

  • If not, you can always read one of the 284 millions (!) entries that Google has for you

  • Seriously though, the only benefits of meditation that matter, more than any article or study will tell you are the ones you would notice in your life!

  • My only advice would be: give it a serious try for at least 7-10 days AND do not worry about how you feel while you meditate but observe the impact on your eyes-open experiences!

  • If it makes you feel better – more centered, more rested, less stressed, less reactive, more creative, more focused… then that’s the only information you need!

  • If it does not bring anything to you… then drop it or try a different technique!

In my students’ words…

“I’ve had the honour to attend a class of this amazing & talented teacher at the Yogalife festival in Belgium, definitely one of the best hours I did there. With a great mix of yoga and music she guides you trough an amazing journey and leaves you with a happy face and a warm heart. If you ever get the chance of doing a class with her, I would absolutely go for it!!” (Sept. 2019)

Marianna M.

“Anne is a warm hearted person and a professional teacher. Teaching yoga is not just a job for her, it is her passion.” (Aug. 2021)

Nica D.

“Anne, that was one of the BEST classes I recently did! I was out of space after savasana and told my friend: ‘sorry I cannot talk right now after an amazing class I just had!’ I wanted to stay a bit longer in my space…” (Yoga teacher, June 2021)

Sabina K.

“Anne is a great yoga instructor. I can recommend her to anyone – beginners as well as advanced practitioners” (Nov. 2021)
