My teaching style
With 1,000+ hours of education with renown teachers and thousands of hours teaching classes, workshops and trainings, expect a mix of influences in my classes.
From anatomy-informed & creative flows to grounding & restorative practices – always supported by carefully selected music – my classes focus on how the way we move and breathe on our mat can translate into our everyday actions.
They are a place to experience challenge & success, strength & flexibility, movement & stillness.
I aim to inspire you to believe in your own capacity to grow and know yourself, to move, pause, breathe & develop the tools that help you navigate the world on & off your mat.
No judgement or competition, my classes are a place for ALL, to connect to yourself and others. Ah and also, fun is allowed!
Yoga styles
I am trained in & share a number of different styles but here are the ones I teach most regularly.
Vinyasa Flow
A fluid & creative style of yoga that combines breath & movement. Starting with a gentle warm-up the flow builds up either to a longer sequence that we repeat or to a more advanced peak pose that we explore.
All classes include back bends, forward folds, balanced hips movements, standing poses & slower stretches.
Classes are supported by carefully selected music to enhance the moving meditation experience.
Yin & Restorative
A slower practice focused on improving flexibility while down-regulating the nervous system. Poses are held for longer (3-5 minutes) inviting stillness & self-enquiry.
Yin yoga aims at stretching & applying gentle stress to targeted tissues while restorative yoga is all about supporting your body for complete relaxation & nourishment.
My ‘Yin’ classes usually combine the two practices for a full reset of body & mind.
Myofascial Release (MFR)
A set of techniques used to influence muscle & fascia, usually with the support of myofascial or tennis balls, but also yoga blocks, blankets etc… MFR aims at removing the restrictions in the connective tissues (fascia), also stimulating elasticity & hydration.
It is a very effective practice to release tensions & restore range of motion.
I often include MFR practice in both my Vinyasa or Yin classes besides running dedicated trainings.
Pranayama
Pranayama is defined as the expansion of the dimension of prana (life force), through a better control of it.
This practice is more than just breathing exercises to manage the flow of oxygen & CO2 but rather a mix of techniques that influence the flow of energy in the body and help regulate the nervous system, immune system, our moods & overall health.
I include Pranayama in all my classes besides teaching dedicated classes & workshops.
